Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha need different planning
Eid al-Fitr, at the end of Ramadan, is typically the bigger order day for us, because families have often been fasting and hosting through the month and want a proper celebratory spread rather than another home-cooked iftar. Demand spikes hard on the day itself and the two days around it.
Eid al-Adha tends to be more spread out across the holiday, with family gatherings happening on different days rather than concentrated on one. Booking pressure is lower, but the day of Eid prayer itself still sees a sharp lunch and early-afternoon rush.
Both dates move on the Islamic calendar and shift earlier by about eleven days each year, so check the date fresh rather than assuming last year's timing.
How far ahead to book
For either Eid, the days immediately following morning prayer are the busiest window of the entire year at this store. If you want a table or a large order ready for early afternoon on Eid itself, book at least two to three weeks ahead. For a smaller family order later in the day, a week's notice is usually enough, though earlier is always safer.
Building an Eid spread for a family gathering
For a gathering of fifteen to twenty, Build Your Own Platter is the right tool. It lets you vary proteins across a large group without ordering fifteen identical plates, which matters on a day when the table includes grandparents, teenagers and toddlers with very different appetites.
Wings for the kids' table. Boneless wings in Mild, Garlic Parmesan or Lemon Pepper, or chicken tender combos with fries and a drink. Both come in sizes built for a group rather than a single portion.
Sushi for the adults who want something lighter. California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Green Dragon Roll give the table variety beyond hot plates, and none of it competes with the main spread for oven or grill space, because it is all prepared separately.
Extra rice, always. Fried rice at $4.95 and white rice at $2.95 disappear fastest at any large family table. Order more than feels necessary.
A note on gifts and sweets
We do not carry desserts or the sweets traditionally associated with Eid, so most families we see order the savory spread from us and handle the sweet course separately, whether homemade or from a bakery. Planning both in the same afternoon, rather than assuming one covers the other, avoids a gap at the end of the meal.
Covering the whole family in one order
Because the entire menu is halal and no pork is served, stored or cooked anywhere on the premises, an Eid order does not require separate handling for any part of an extended family, including relatives visiting from out of town who may be more particular about verifying halal status than regular customers. Our sauces are made in house rather than bought in, which is worth mentioning specifically on a day when guests may ask.
