Trick-or-treating in North Philadelphia happens on rowhouse blocks, stoop to stoop, and by the last week of October the evenings are cold. Kids who head out on an empty stomach are done in forty minutes. Kids who ate something hot first last the whole route. We are at 101 E Olney Avenue, a short walk from the Olney Transportation Center, and this is how to get a real dinner into everyone before the block fills up.
Eat before dark
Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, and the sun sets around six. On a stoop-to-stoop block, the busy hour is the first one after dark, so dinner wants to be finished by then.
Order around four thirty for a five o'clock pickup. Everything is cooked when the ticket lands, so ordering ahead matters more on a Saturday than any other night of the week.
Hot food that survives a cold walk home
If you are picking up on the way back from somewhere, rice and hibachi hold heat far better than anything fried. A Chicken Hibachi at $10.85 or a Beef Hibachi at $11.85 with fried rice will still be hot after a ten minute walk in late October air.
Fries are the thing to skip for a walk. Eat them at the counter or not at all.
Ordering for the whole house
Olney households are often big ones, with cousins, grandparents and a couple of neighbor kids around on a holiday night. For six to eight people, a 30-piece wing order at $40.99, two California Rolls at $8.85 each and two orders of fried rice cover the table. For adults who want a full meal, the Chicken and Beef Bento at $14.85 comes with hibachi, rice or noodles, a California Roll, dumplings and spring rolls.
Kids who will only eat chicken get Chicken Tenders, from $8.99 for three pieces.
Halal, with nothing to check
All of the meat we serve is 100% Halal, and our sauces are made in our own kitchen. Later that night you may be reading candy wrappers. Dinner is one thing you do not need to check.
