Between Falls Church, Bailey’s Crossroads and Annandale you have one of the most food-literate stretches in the DC area, and one of the largest Muslim communities in Virginia. What makes hibachi halal or not
Hibachi describes how the food is cooked, not what it is made of. So the question is really about the restaurant, and the honest answer for most hibachi restaurants is no. Here is where they fail.
Sourcing.Halal starts with the supplier. Chicken, beef and lamb have to be slaughtered to halal standard, and a restaurant either has that paperwork or it does not.
The shared grill.Most hibachi kitchens run one flat top for everything on the menu. If pork is on that menu, it has been on that surface. Wiping it down between orders is not the same thing as never cooking pork at all.
The sauces.Teriyaki, eel sauce and a lot of house yum yum are made with mirin or sake. It is the most commonly missed detail in halal dining, because diners check the protein and stop there.
Flame was set up so none of that applies. The full menu is halal, top to bottom. No pork comes through the door, which means the grill has one job. Sauces are made in our own kitchen instead of bought from a distributor, so we know what is in them.
Ask those three questions anywhere else you eat hibachi: where does the meat come from, is pork cooked here, and is there mirin in the sauce. If a restaurant hesitates on any of them, you have your answer.

We are at 6379 Seven Corners Center, Falls Church, VA 22044, inside the Seven Corners shopping center where Route 7 and Route 50 meet. Eden Center is minutes away. Bailey’s Crossroads is next door, Annandale is a short drive south, and Arlington, Tysons and Skyline are all easy runs.
Hours are Monday through Saturday 11AM to 10PM and Sunday 11AM to 9PM. Holiday hours can shift around Eid and the major public holidays, so the Google Business Profile is worth a look before a long drive.
This is the store where the ingredient questions get most specific, and the staff here are used to answering them properly rather than nodding. If you want to watch the grill rather than collect from it, the quiet stretch is mid-afternoon, between the lunch and dinner rushes. Evenings from six onward are the busiest, particularly at the end of the week.
Getting here, and the towns we serve
Seven Corners sits where Route 7 and Route 50 cross, which puts a lot of Northern Virginia inside a short drive. Bailey’s Crossroads is next door. Falls Church City, Annandale and Culmore are minutes away. Arlington, Skyline, Tysons and Merrifield are all inside fifteen, and the Beltway pulls in Springfield and McLean not much further out.

Seven Corners is a genuinely confusing junction and the parking is worse, so give yourself an extra minute the first time. Ordering online before you set off is worth doing here for that reason alone. Everything is cooked when the order lands, so a pre-order means you park once, collect and get back out of the intersection.

How the plates are built: every hibachi comes with your choice of any two sides — fried rice, white rice, lo mein noodles or vegetables. Bento boxes arrive loaded already, with hibachi, vegetables, rice or noodles, a 4-piece California Roll, two dumplings and two spring rolls. Extra chicken is $2.95 and extra salmon, beef or shrimp is $3.95, which is usually the cheapest way to stretch one plate across two people. Individual sides run $2.95 to $4.95, and Yum Yum sauce is $0.50.
At Seven Corners the table order is usually a spread: two combos, a couple of rolls and a wing count for the middle. If you are catering an event, from $15.99 per person, the platters scale better than individual boxes for anything over ten people.
