Football season rewires the weekend in Prince George's County. Friday nights belong to high school, Saturdays belong to Bowie State, and Sundays belong to whoever is hosting. What all three have in common is a host standing in a kitchen an hour before kickoff doing arithmetic they did not plan for.
This is the arithmetic, done in advance, using what we actually serve at 3548 Crain Highway.
Start with the head count, not the menu
The most common game day ordering mistake is building the order dish by dish. Six people, so six entrees. That is how you end up spending sixty five dollars and running out of food in twenty minutes, because entrees are portioned for one person eating a meal, not eight people grazing for three hours.
Work backward from the room instead.
Four to six people. One 20-piece wing order at $28.99 and two hibachi plates. The wings carry the first hour, the plates give people something to build a real portion around.
Eight to twelve people. One 30-piece at $40.99, one 20-piece in a second flavor, and three or four hibachi plates. Two flavors matters more than people expect. One heat level for the room is a decision someone will resent.
Fifteen to twenty five people. 50 pieces at $67.99 or 100 at $130.99, plus a run of bento boxes. At this size the 100-piece count is the cheapest protein on the menu per person.
The wing flavor problem, solved
There are fourteen flavors: Rim Fire, Mango Habanero, Hot, Mild, Thai Chilli, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Buffalo Gold, Teriyaki, Sweet and Tangy, Honey Garlic, Honey BBQ, Chipotle BBQ and Old Bay.
For a mixed room, the reliable split is one safe flavor, one Maryland flavor and one heat flavor. Garlic Parmesan is the safe one and disappears first with kids in the room. Old Bay is the Maryland one and is the flavor people mention afterward. Rim Fire or Mango Habanero covers the people who came for heat.
If you only order one, order Honey Garlic. It is the flavor nobody at the table objects to.
Why bento boxes work better than platters for tailgates
A hibachi plate is built to be eaten at a table. A bento is built to be closed and carried, and that difference matters in a parking lot at Bulldog Stadium or a sideline at a Friday night game.
The Chicken and Beef Bento at $14.85 comes with hibachi, vegetables, rice or noodles, a 4-piece California Roll, dumplings and spring rolls. That is a complete meal in a container with a lid, which is the whole argument. For a tailgate, six bentos beat a single large platter because nobody has to serve anything and nobody needs a plate.
Timing your pickup
This is where most game day orders go wrong. Every plate is cooked when the ticket lands, which means a 100-piece wing order is not a thing you collect on a whim.
Order the day before for anything over 30 pieces, and call 240-206-8269 rather than relying on the app for large counts. For same-day orders, put the ticket in by 2PM for a 4PM pickup on a Saturday, and by 11AM for a Sunday afternoon.
Our Bowie hours are 11AM to 10PM daily, so a late Sunday game is comfortably covered.

That works out near twelve dollars fifty a head for food nobody has to cook, reheat or apologize for.
Everything on that list is halal. The entire menu is, at every location. No pork is served, stored or cooked on the premises, and our sauces are made in house rather than bought from a distributor, which is the part most kitchens cannot say.
