Towson has a decent food scene and a specific hole in it. Walk the blocks around campus and you can eat well across several cuisines, but halal options are thin and halal Japanese is essentially absent. Students who care about it have either been cooking, driving into the city, or making do.
We are at 10128 York Rd, Suite A, about fifteen minutes north up York Road, and open until midnight six nights a week. That combination, halal and open late, is the reason this guide exists.
Why it is worth the fifteen minutes
Fifteen minutes is a real cost when you are choosing dinner on a Tuesday. Here is the honest case for it.
The whole menu qualifies. There is no halal section and no special order. No pork is served, stored or cooked anywhere on the premises, which means the flat top has one job and there is no cross-contact conversation to have. Our sauces are made in our own kitchen rather than bought from a distributor, which covers the mirin and cooking sake that disqualifies most commercial teriyaki and eel sauce.
The price works for a student budget. Hibachi plates start at $10.85 and include two sides.
The hours work for a student schedule. 11AM to midnight Monday through Saturday, noon to midnight Sunday. Most of what is open near campus at 11:30PM is a drive-thru.
It splits well. For two or three people, the per-person cost drops fast, which is covered below.
What to order on a student budget
Under $11. Chicken Hibachi at $10.85 or Tofu Hibachi at $10.85, both with any two sides from fried rice, white rice, lo mein noodles or vegetables. A full hot meal that reheats properly the next day.
Under $15. Chicken and Beef Combo at $12.85 for two proteins on one plate, Steak Hibachi at $13.85, or the Chicken Bento at $13.85, which is hibachi plus vegetables, rice or noodles, a 4-piece California Roll, dumplings and spring rolls in a closed box.
Splitting two ways. Chicken, Beef and Shrimp Combo at $15.85 plus a California Roll at $8.85 comes to $24.70, which is twelve thirty five each and a genuinely full meal for both people.
Splitting three or four ways. A 20-piece wing order at $28.99 plus Fried Rice at $5.45 is around eight sixty each for four people. Thirty pieces at $40.99 covers six.
The add-on trick. Extra chicken on a plate is $3.45 and extra salmon, beef or shrimp is $4.45. One plate with an extra protein costs less than two plates and feeds two people.
Fall on the corridor
September fills York Road back up. Towson is in session, Friday nights belong to high school football across Baltimore County, and Ravens Sundays reorganize the weekend. Our late window goes from quiet in summer to one of the busiest stretches of the night from September on.
Two practical notes. First, weeknight 5PM to 7PM is our densest pickup window, so order ahead if you are coming straight from campus. Second, if you are driving up after 10PM on a Friday, put the ticket in before you leave. Everything is cooked when the order lands, so a pre-order means you are collecting rather than waiting fifteen minutes in a lobby.
For org meetings and study groups
Wings scale further per dollar than anything else we make, and they do not require plates, utensils or anyone to serve them. Thirty pieces at $40.99 feeds a room that six separate entrees would not. Fifty is $67.99 and a hundred is $130.99.
Fourteen flavors are available: Rim Fire, Mango Habanero, Hot, Mild, Thai Chilli, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Buffalo Gold, Teriyaki, Sweet and Tangy, Honey Garlic, Honey BBQ, Chipotle BBQ and Old Bay. For a mixed group, order across three flavors rather than one.
Call 410-891-8087 for anything over 30 pieces so we can schedule it properly.
